Traveling During the Holidays
Lauryn Chandler
Traveling systems have improved greatly over the years because of the amount of people who travel during the holidays. It is estimated by AAA that forty-six million people will travel over fifty miles to be with family and friends for Thanksgiving. That is the highest number in about seven years. Even though the weather was an obstacle for some people around the country, it did not stop them from trying to reach their destinations by any means. About fifty thousand people had delays that were caused by the weather conditions. This was upsetting to some people on the busiest travel day of the season. It was said by NBC that the train stations were very busy right before Thanksgiving. I think it is difficult to travel when transportation systems are very busy; however, people want to be with their friends and family members. To me, it is important for the systems to develop safety rules to keep everyone healthy and to get them to their destinations. Are you traveling safely?
